The Newport Beach was introduced to tour in 1997 however it didn't come to market until after the turn of the century because of consumer demand to play what the tour players were playing... And many were playing this model.

The Newport Beach is unique to the entire Newport line because of the slit cut into the sole that nearly reaches the top line.
